Some classrooms of Bradford-Tioga Head Start, Inc. (BTHS) get the love and support of a Foster Grandparent. This program provides people 55 years of age or older a meaningful and challenging volunteer opportunity. They are able to share their experiences, wisdom and love with children who not only need it but also welcome it.
To become a Foster Grandparent, you need to:
Be 55 years or older.
Meet income eligibility.
Serve a minimum of 15 hours a week.
Complete pre-service orientation.
Pass criminal and ChildLine clearances.
Be placed in schools, daycares, or Head Start.
